I've got a lady that has called inquiring about help on her 240k mile 08 E320 Bluetec. Seems the check engine light is staying on and car is in limp home mode. She has taken the car to the local MB dealer for service since new and says the body is in too good a condition to write the car off. Not sure exactly right now about oil usage but seems dealer is telling her it will take $2k to get into the engine and try to ascertain whether it is the turbo or oil control ring$. I would have thought it would have been easy enough to check the "looseness" of the turbo. Anyway, has anyone been seeing issues with excessive oil consumption on this engine caused by oil ring issues?

At 240k it is going to be hard to justify putting much money into the car and I suspect it can get quite pricey digging into one of these.
