I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of a ring issue on an om642. The most common reason these start inhaling oil is a failed centrifuge on the PCV. It’s an inexpensive part so worth replacing on trial.

Do we know why the dealer is indicting the rings? Or are they basically just telling her they aren’t that interested in this business?
