In the late 1970's an old high school chum of mine went Mopar crazy and bought a cherry 1971 (?) Challenger, he wanted the lighter E body to save weight , he installed a 413 engine and boy howdy did it GO ! .

I remember he was trying to get me to help him put on a turbo charger, at that time I didn't understand the concept .
Mine was the 360 4bbl, mated to a 727. I could have changed the rear gears out for something better, but on the highway, my car would fly. Hammer the fun pedal down, and watch the fuel gauge drop. It would pass everything on the highway, but a gas station. Its the reason why I had my license revoked when I just turned 17. They gave me driving privileges to an from work and school, but that was it. The cops in the area knew the car, and after my brother broke the rear spring perch loaded down with Thanksgiving day newspapers, I got rid of it and moved into a Yugo. Much smaller, less chance of getting pulled over...til I got caught doing 93 in a 55. Privileges were removed til I was 18...which was only 4 months wait.

I had a slight problem with speeding when I was younger. I've been good since...at not getting caught...but I'm better than I used to be.
