Just for your reference, it took me 1 day stop and go to rebuild the PS pump on my 400E, man, the V8 engine bay is tight! you I6 may be easier.

Your procedure sounds fine, according to my memory, it is pretty straight forward, I spent most of time removing PS pump from the car, access to those 13mm bolts is a nightmare for 400/500E.

You may want to siphon the PS fluid first before you disconnect any hose, don't mess up with the direction of the internal components: fins, valves and etc... the fins have direction, round side faces out, keep inside absolutely clean, i rinsed the internal parts with PS fluid before I put them together.
