The company that I work for is on almost every drilling rig on the east coast of the United States. This will be my 28th year of working in this industry. I have seen the efficiencies built into the industry during this time. The efficiency of retrieving usable hydrocarbon will never be matched in a lab environment in our lifetime. Biomass per BTU produced is far less efficient than the hydrocarbon derived from conventional drilling.I read all the trade publications about the biomass and such and their data simply is manipulated. The same goes for electric cars. By the time the batteries are produced, the pollution far outweighs the benefit. This will come down to simply who is allowed to pollute in the supply stream, whether it be batteries, biomass or hydrogen.
