It was a modern Saab from 2006. I think a 9-5. Honestly, I hated that car. I did all of my own work, but I replaced some sort of computer that required me to go to the dealer to have them reset some system. Still had to go to them for various proprietary computer stuff.

The dealership was a Volvo GM dealership that took ownership of the Saab stuff . I think they're still around in Boston. Great guys and the prices were on par with what we pay for Benz stuff . Probably because the company went belly up!

As for our friend, I would have installed the sensor myself and had the dealership reprogram the computer . Should be an hour of shop time for the privilege.

If I was in OP's shoes, I would invest in the STAR system from an eBay guy. It's a shame they don't sell those proprietary machines to DIYers (dealer profit).
