This morning I was given a '88 300E 4matic, the engine is seized and I have to recover it from the roadside about 100 miles away, but it's FREE!! In my garage I have the engine and autobox from a '87 300D (non turbo) diesel, what are my options with this, will the engine fit on the 300E box??, or if I fit the 300D engine and box is the diff ratio different?? I have never (yet )seen a 4matic, what complication does this add?
