500E Audio Project [pics]

Hey guys. The 500E needed a little better audio for it, so here is what me and my friend accomplished in about 7 hours.

First the ingrediants:

A Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Digital Capacitor [CPCD10]
An Alpine 500Watt Mono Amplifier [MRD-M500]
An Alpine 250Watt 6-Channel Amplifier [MRV-F400]
JL 12W3-D2
4 Feet of 0-Guage Power and Ground Wire [8 feet total]
4 Feet of 4-Guage Power and Ground Wire [8 feet total]
Stinger 0-Guage Fuse Box with Stinger Fuse
Some wood

First we stripped down the trunk, took the carpet wall off, took the right molding off to reveal some messy looking wiring. The right hand side shows the 0-guage wire being run through the fuse box and the ground wire to the chassis.

We then took extremely thin wood and cut it in the shape of the carpet, and attatched the carpet to the wood with 4 screws. Being extremely thin and light, the wood only needed about 4 screws, one at each corner to hold the carpet to it, plus the amps have about 4 screws each and the capacitor.

Holes were drilled through the wood and carpet to run the 0-guage through to the capacitor as is seen in the picture above.

The amps were then mounted...

The capacitor was then charged, and then wired appropriately. Then wired to the mono amp...

This is not a completely finished product. After stepping back and looking at it, i'd like the 4-guage then run back through the wood, and 2 more holes underneath the mono amp, and it re-emerge under the mono amp so the 4-guage wires do not hang out in front. I will work on that later. For now...here you go:

Quick shoutouts to my boy who helped me:
Brock, for almost getting electricuted numerous times and helping me with the setup.
