1985 Mercedes 300D - replacing all door seals - URO

Hello all,

I just have to say that I'm pretty impressed with the way URO door seals fit. URO=$40 and OEM=$250+, so I was surprised such an inexpensive seal fits so well. I wouldn't use URO for a critical part but for a door seal, why not?

I did the following:

-removed the old seal, it crumpled into pieces upon removal
-kept all the clips (4 clear and 1 black)
-cleaned up the old factory glue/weatherstripping adhesive - using "Goo Gone"
-rinsed everything down with a micro fiber cloth and some light water
-dried it, applied new seal carefully around the door, started with the clip area
-applied some new weatherstripping adhesive at the bottom, let it dry and cleaned up the area where adhesive got

It's so quiet now! Absolutely night and day difference. It's slightly harder to shut the door now but I'm hoping that changes in the coming weeks!
