I had a similar but reverse concern. My car originally came with 123 430 58 29. It was broken and I replaced it with the 123 430 74 29. Although 123 430 74 29 has a restriction orifice on one of the two small connections I have seen no difference switching from one booster hose to the other. I called MB NA and they said the booster vacuum hoses are functionally interchangeable but as you pointed out you may have to get some extra flexible MB bulk vacuum hose if you can no longer reach the one of the fittings on the booster. Too bad we're not neighbors as we could just swap them in the name of keeping things perfect.
