There is this place Joshua Tree National Monument which is a desert out here but not a high desert. Again we used to camp there. There was more then a few times it was so hot even at night I slept on top of my sleeping bag but one time I was there I shivered all night inside of my sleeping bag.

It was back in the 1980's and I went with a Friend Camping in Death Valley in September. During the day the temp was hot to mild but at night it got cold but was extremely windy. So windy I abandoned my Tent and squeezed into the Chevy Chevette with my Friend.
