On my roughly same year w124 they were not t30, they were t27.
I can’t imagine they would change the size so that’s probably your problem.
I just removed mine yesterday, if you are removing the wheel also, have fun with the center nut, it’s like Mercedes biggest fear was their steering wheels falling off. It was soo tight
