My take on this. Full disclosure I have a Bendpak 4 post.
If you need to store cars and work on cars at a more leisurely rate, 4 post is the way to go.
If you are going to make money with the lift 2 post is the way to go.
Ultimately the 4 post cost more because you really do need a bridge jack to be reasonably productive.
If you plan on getting two lifts. First one 4 post second one 2 post.
