Laying under a car for a job like this is not fun or particularly safe. It shouldn't be more than 4-5 hours of labor at a shop. I don't know what you make an hour but if we say a conservative $30 you're only saving $350-500 doing it yourself.

I wouldn't do it without a shop lift and trans jack.
