No experience with either of those tires, but the Grabber is proven and well regarded, and available with a severe snow/3 peak mountain snowflake rating. That would get the nod from me.
I'm running Treadwright Guard Dogs now, also a retread. Balanced well, no defects. Probably won't be going with them again, but that's got nothing to do with them being retreads - they're just stupid loud as they wear.
My Treadwrights have Kedge grip, crushed walnut shell and glass. They act as teeny studs when they start wearing through, and when the particles pop out, they act like little sipes. Very pleased with them, and it looks like Tire Recappers offers something similar with acorn shell. Would 100% recommend paying extra for that feature if snow or ice is going to be something you're encountering.
While we're on the subject of tires, I'm looking for a unicorn. If anyone knows of a severe snow/3pmsf rated mud terrain tire, please let me know. Lots of all terrains with the severe snow rating, but the only severe snow rated mud terrain I found is the Treadwright Guard Dogs that I'm running now. Might just get another set and replace them when they get too noisy.
