yeah I guess moving the spring perches might be a pain. I do have a 123 and a 124 and just got done redoing the whole subframe, diff mounts, wavetrac, custom driveshaft, bigger swaybar, modified SLS valve bracket and all the links on the 124, so I do have some idea what's involved.
I was thinking in particular about Pyry Takkunen redoing his w108 with a w202 subframe or similar; can't recall exactly what he used but it looks very similar to a 124 setup:
