Sometimes if you hook the dead and good batteries in parallel, this will fool the smart charger into starting the charge. Get the dead battery up to about 5V and then you can charge it on it's own. The good battery will then need charging too!

I learned to do this when we sailed. After night sail or battery would be dead. Did as described at it recovered. Lasted for about 6 years doing that!

I was tempted to try once more with my 300D battery, but after 12 years, decided it had done it's duty
