In 2017, pit bulls killed 13,000 dogs, 5,000 cats, and 20,000 horses.

The stat on horses is the one that really caught my eye. And it only makes sense. Large carnivores/ predators tend to prey on grazing mammals in the wild. Further, domestic horses these days, almost certainly have very little experience with predators. Plus they are generally locked in a confined space. This article was interesting:
Quote:
Community members in Hendry County are keeping their fences locked after a neighbor’s two Pitbulls fatally attacked a horse.
Hendry County homeowner Kristina showed WINK News the spot where she watched two Pitbulls attack her neighbor’s horse Saturday.
Kristina said, “it was just unbelievable. Completely unbelievable. We basically just got the dogs off of the horse called the neighbor. And then we just call the police.”

I’m thinking one of the main reasons to pack a handgun in future might be to kill rogue dogs.
This scene from “No Country for Old Men” comes to mind. If you’ve not seen it, don’t worry, there is no major plot spoiler going on here, if anything, it might interest you in seeing it. Was an interesting flick, I thought. One little game you can play with it is to think about what you might’ve done differently at various points.
Watching this again, it occurred to me how he blew it in this piece of the drama. What would you have done differently?
