Has anyone ever owned a Qwik-Cook grill that uses newspaper as fuel?
Has anyone ever owned a Qwik-Cook grill that uses newspaper as fuel?
I asked this question over on a bushcraft forum and everyone that had one said they worked as advertised. And the next question was what I really wanted to know is why they stopped using it.
I still have one somewhere in my garage and I also stopped using mine0. I bought it back in the late 1970's to early 1980's
I my case I very close to never barbecue stuff on charcoal. I seldom make hamburgers which is the Quick grills forte. And I never got delivered our bought a daily newspaper to use as fuel.
Collord grocery ads smell more when they are burned. And in fact, I don't like the smell of burning newspaper. And magazines and cardboard smoke and smell even more. The smell does not alter the taste of the food.
But as far as cooking the burgers it worked as advertised. It was indeed much faster than the process needed to get a charcoal grill going and hot enough to cook burger. You could be done cooking on the Qwik-cooker before the charcoal grill was well hot.
Any way I am curious about the experiences of others had with the Qwik-cook grill.
