This may sound like heresy, but I run the mats in my E300 through the washing machine. I remember the floor mats were criticized by the press in the late 90's because MB changed the design and they're not as heavy as they used to be.

But I'm perfectly happy with that. The lighter weight allows me to machine wash them and they come out looking like new. The ones in my 1999 E300 have probably been done every 6 months, for a total of 8 times so far. Still going strong.

So I vote for the dealer mat.
