Drop by your local Wal-Mart or similar store. Pick up a pour-spout with ON/OFF valve for about $1.50. Impco sells one for about $4. They screw onto the oil bottles, do not leak, and provide you the extra 'reach' needed to get to the fuel filler opening.

Insert the spout, open the valve, count to one, close the valve, let it drain, and stow the bottle in the trunk.
