I just reread your post and realized you said 240D. Yes, even the 240D's "manual" system has vacuum pods. The vacuum is supplied by the green line with the yellow stripe. It goes to the compressor control knob. That knob supplies a pod on each side of the console. They are accessed pretty easily by dropping the under-dash panels.
