Sorry Barrie, I've been off-line for a while.

I recall that you've already removed the sunroof headliner before. With the headliner removed, detach the cable from the sunroof (there is an integrated bracket on the end of the cable which is attached to the sunroof with two hex head bolts).

With the cable detached, you operate the sunroof switch to push the cable further forward. It moves several inches forward until it pushes out of the motor. (At this point, you can practice re-engaging it by pushing the cable back and operating the sunroof motor to "catch" it.)

A couple of bolts hold the motor in place, but the tube (the channel that the cable goes in) needs to be detached from the motor. It slides out of a groove in the motor, to the side. I think it will be easy to see.

The motor is easy to take apart. No caveats there.
