If you are talking about the transfer case fluid?
It has a filler plug(14mm allen) similar to the ones in the differential.
The fluid level should be at the point of running out when the plug is removed.

The auto trans doesn't share it's fluid with the transfer case & can be checked with the car running. OF course the dipstick is under hood.
