I think the governor hits higher than that. If I floor the throttle, the engine'll get up to 4500 RPM between upshifts, and I've heard that it can go as high as 5500 RPM, although "m not sure on that.

I know that I've got a taller rear end gear ratio, but I'm at 3000 RPM even at 70, and I do'nt think I've ever had it up to 4000 RPM except for while accelerating. My car wants to do 80, but I can't afford the ticket...
