I would recommend trying some VERY light applications of #9 and #7 (yes, the same stuff we use on the paint) for cleaning/reconditioning. Once you get it where you like it (or it is as good as it is gonna get) protect with #26. Use only the Mirror Glaze wax, as the Gold Class has other ingredients that don't do well on wood.

With the fragile wood technique is very important. Use no more than the weight of the cloth/rag if possible. Also be sure to use a rag with 100% natural fibers. That wood swirls/scratches easier than the paint.
