I am using a #2 pad in the front and #1 in the rear with H&R Sport springs. It leaves about a 1 1/2'' gap for both the front and rear.
Your rims' offset will also determine if the wheel will rub against the inside fender lip. In my case, I had my fenders rolled to ensure that the wheels would not rub since I'm using 19'' rims.
Remember that going too low may create alignment problems that cannot be adjusted which leads to premature tire wear.
