Hello, this radio is installed in my '79 w123.
(similar to RENO model)

It has two holes at each side of the face plate for detaching the plate.
I used a coat hanger wire with a slight bend at the tip to fish into the left hand side. It sprung that side of the face off. However, I tried same with the right hand side to no avail.

Does anybody know how the lock mechaism operates so that I can precisely detatch the face plate??

I don't want to fish around anymore and break something by mistake.
By the way, does anybody know how many watt per channel these had??
Looks nice for a cassette player-stereo but I have no idea about its specs.

does it have a PLL synthesizer??
