I would like to fit a set of 16x8 ET34 15 hole 1992 SL oem rims on my 1983 w126 380SEL. Could I just use a spacer (10mm?) to bring them to the right offset, which I believe is 25mm for 7 or 7.5in rims ? Will the 8in width be okay?

Has anyone else done a similar conversion for a w126?

I read one post in this forum that the 1990 r129 SL had a 22mm offset. Is that correct? If so, then what year did it change to 34mm?

FYI I currently have a set of 16in chromed Sentras on this car with 225/60/16 tires. Not sure of the rim width or offset but the car drives very well with these. Only problem is the chrome peeling off the rims, otherwise the car also looks great with these larger wheels/tires.
