The piece debunks the wacko theories and documents the close times between the US oil industry and Saudi Arabia. That doesn't surprise me very much. Others have argued that the war on Iraq is an attempt to get access to another main source of oil in the Middle East so the US can dump Saudi Arabia as its ally because it funds Wahabi movements everywhere.

I lived in Canada in the late 70's and early 80's and seem to recall that the Fifth Estate is on a par with 60 minutes. Perhaps John (BlackMercedes)can comment on Bob McKeown.
