Headlight switch illumination

1984 300SD

I know the headlight switch orange dot lamp is an indicator for the fog lamps, but there was some talk in the archives of someone planning to wire the switch to "constant on". Since there are now "drop-in" LED's in this size that only draw 30mA, this has real possibilities, because the early 126 (as far as I can fathom) has no illumination for the switch and it's a pain sometimes to grope.

The wiring diagrams on the CD are not detailed in the switch innards and I wonder if anyone has done this, before I disassemble a spare switch?
