Donations...touchy
I've also donated a car before but needing work not worth pouring money into. The charity usually asks for the title to be signed over, but to whom left blank. This way when the car is repaired they can sell it quicker is the excuse they give. BTW here in NC if the DMV finds a car with an open title the car can be seized. For liability purposes it is best to tell the charity the title will be signed over to them and if they don't like that, find another charity. Charities receiving cars should also hold a dealers license to operate properly with the DMV.
