Use a citrus cleaner like Zap or Castrol Purple. Spray on engine cold (hot engine can cause breakage of cast iron exhaust). Spray liberally and let it sit for about 5 minutes or so. Use hose or better yet a pressure washer to wash it off. Avoid obvious electrical stuff and watch your vacuum lines that they don't blow off. That should clean it up pretty good.
