I've been looking for a way to wake up the performance in my 1995 E420. Moving to a 2.82 rear end from the pathetic stock 2.24 has been suggested by many. However - with the revelation here that there's a 5-speed auto, non-electronic that might fit my car, would that be a better upgrade path? I'd like to retain my mileage, but get better performance. Does anyone know if this transmission would be compatible with a '95 E420?
