If it were me I would bump that boost up to around 12 psi MAX while it is off.

Replace all the seals/o-rings around it while it is off. Personally, I always just remove the intake/exh manifold and clean them up good while doing this job. You will probably find the intake pretty full of carbon/oil deposits. The fasteners that attach the back of the turbo area to the manifold are the biggest pia issues - oh yea and that bottom fasteners on the air cleaner support.
