I stand corrected on the use of E300TD. Mercedes calls it a E300 turbodiesel in the owners manual and on service orders it is called a E300DT.
Concerning the purge:
1. Someone did suggest on the posts that using the DP in the fuel filter was probally the best way to go, considering the problems you would have, using the jar system, on the 98-99 fuel system set-up.
2. Maybe the engine ran a little smoother. You like to think so.
3. I will be checking the milage to see if there is any improvement. Like I stated, The filter had not been changed since I purchased the car with 32K on it and it now has 82k.
