Pretty much identical, except that home heating oil will not usually be as clean, typically has a higher pour point (normally the tank is buried or inside, so it stays warmer), and the FUEL TAX ISN'T PAID.

Big fine ($2000 or so and up) if you get caught. And yes, the excise police have been know to stop diesels and check.
