I don't know if it will help but the modulator can be adjusted by removing the rubber cover and turning the adjuster (I think you pull and turn it ) ccw for firmer shifts and cw for softer shifts. Before we had the 300CE tranny rebuilt it made a clicking noise that turned out to be pieces of the clutch pack that was floating around inside
