I'd like to replace my rear view mirror in a 1989 420 SEL with one of those mirrors that is auto-dimming, with a compass and maybe temp guage too. I see gentex makes several models. I'm thinking the power could come from the front courtesy light. Since there is already a working exterior temp guage, I'm thinking the new temp guage could be used for the interior temp.

Has anyone installed one of these fancy mirrors? Any and all recommendations and advice is appreciated.
