I have TWC's DVR cable box, and it's nice, but quirky, like it forgets to record certain programs, but not others. Given their relationship with advertisers, they don't have the "commercial kill" feature, just 3 levels of FFWD. My cable company has the new HDTV DVRs on order, so that will be the next "free upgrade" to the home theatre system. I heard that Replay got bought out by another company after Sonic Blue and I wonder if that means that TiVo and Replay may not survive the $9.95 per month, no equipment purchase system that cable companies are offering. What happens when your Replay or TiVo units break after the warranty period or you want HDTV recording?
