My dad took my car to Des planes (sp?) Illinois and it wouldn't start this morning. It got down to -15 last night there and it wasn't plugged in because the block heater I have isn't in yet. He had it towed to Arlington Heights MB. The mechanic there mentioned they may change the oil and replace the battery. I have Delvac Synthetic in it now and the battery was replaced in July! Although, the car has leaked through the oil pan enough that I have added 2 quarts of 20-50 oil to top it off. Would that have made a difference even with the synthetic? Any good reasonable ideas that they should maybe follow? My dad told them that it should at least need to be warmed up. It has been in their shop for 2 hours now. He doesn't know what they're going to do. Would the fuel just have gelled stopping it fror starting?ad said he went through about 5 glow plug cycles before even trying to start it this morning. (at the Marriot) He said it didn't even try to fire, it just kept turning over. Please let me know what you think.
