I've actually been looking since the first of december. I've been watching all of the classified sites, gone to look at "a great runner in great shape" and had a deal struck to buy one and have it delivered. I drove around 3 hours to see the "great runner in great shape", to find a rusted out 300SD that the greaseball used car salesman couldn't even get to fire. Sure it was about -10 and the battery was about 15 years old, but the way it was described I was reall dissapointed. It was kind of funny to see the salesmans face when I told him to forget it - I had talked him to $2300 cash, which he knew I had in my pocket! The one I made a deal to buy and have delivered, was a 300D turbo, from georgia a year or so ago. Dealt with the guy over the phone, set a price for the car & delivery, & set a preliminary delivery time of the next weekend - 6-7 days away. the next weekend came with no car, and I couldn't even get a hold of the guy. Finally almost two weeks later he calls and asks how I wanted to handle the title transfer. I told him to bring it to me, I'd give him cash, then he'd give me the title. He wanted me to send him money for the car & delivery up front, then started some speal about its a 20+ year old car and it won't be perfect so he wanted to make sure I bought it rather than have him bring it to me & have me decide I didn't want it. My radar started going off listening to him go on and I told him to forget it. If he'd asked for the money when we'd made the original deal, I'd probably of sent it just to get the car here, but after almost two weeks of not being able to get a hold of him - no way. I'm hoping someone on here has got a second car, that isn't perfect, but still decent. I work seven days a week, so I can't really devote much time to traveling around to look. But I'm sure I want a 300d and will buy one soon.
