Just to chime in about the trunk lid and the "rear insert" behind the license plate:

Only the sedans in '94 and '95 got this new trunk lid, in which there is no insert like '90-93 W124's. It is molded in the lid itself. There is also a chrome strip below the Star logo. Again, this is sedans only.

W124 coupes and cabriolets kept the same trunk lid as earlier W124's. They did not get the chrome strip, either. They have the black plastic strip that goes across the trunk from tail light to tail light.
