Had my '88 560SL out on the track at KY Speedway back in November. Since I was #4 in a 5 car group going around the track, I couldn't get going very fast. Only about 100mph. Car could have gone faster with clear track, but only maybe 110 or so. 1.5 mile tri-oval means turning too much for that car. Turning the wheel hard enough to make the front tires cry at 85 mph is an unsettling experience. Quite a bit different than going pretty much straight for miles on interstate highways at speed. Will try again next year with some new sub-frame bushings and much better tires. I am developing SOOO much respect for the guys that get out on this track and turn laps at averages over 170mph...and pass people!
