Balo rotors are fine, but you need to cross-hatch them with coase sandpaper before installing them.
Unless you are racing (on a track), crossdrilled or slotted rotors will reduce, not increase, your braking power, and the crossdrilled ones will crack sooner or later. Stick with solid ones -- you may not look as cool as the next guy, but you have MUCH better brakes! Someday you might want them in a BIG hurry -- like the high school kid who had a loaded tri-axle pull out in front of her on the highway on Tuesday.
