I have the OEM rubber mats in my car and can guarantee you, the lip is NOT high enough to retain all the snow & slush in the winter.
You WILL end up with overflow & ugly white saltspots on the carpet.
Btw., it is not a great idea to have carpet & rubbermats at the same time.
