The CD's are not all compatible for S-class cars.

I have a 2000 S430 and bought a set of navigation cd's. They did not work, I called Mercedes 1-800 # and they told me that the current all region kits did not work in early production 2000 models. In fact they looked up my records and told me that they wouldn't work.

They said they would be issuing an updated set that would work for my 2000 S430 sometime this year.
