Was just listening to a piece on NPR about the refinery that Shell is shutting down in Bakersfield, CA because it's not economicaly viable, except whistleblowers inside the Shell organization released documents showing that it is one of the most profitable refineries in the U.S. There's more going on than the simple mantra of "it's just supply and demand" When corporations are creating supply shortages to maximize profits they are acting in their own interest as our market system is meant to, and they are laughing every time somebody blames it on enviromentalist conspiricies, diverting attention from their enormous profiteering
