What do you mean by "overheats on long upgrades"?
Any engine will get hotter going up a grade because its burning more fuel. If it doesn't boil, its not too hot.
This ideal of keeping an engine "cool" is a myth. An engine is supposed to run hot, that's why it has a thermostst in it. An engine can be "cool" at 250*F as long as the coolant isn't boiling. Look where the red mark on your temp gage is.
Whether the product you referenced works, I don't know. Why don't you give it a scientific test and let us know.
