I am in the process of doing some needed repairs on my '72 280SE 2.8L. It has had some problems since I bought it in August. The first is the alternator, after leaving the dome light on all night long I had fried the battery, then when I put the battery back after charging it I put in backwards, and fried the alternator. Does anyone know if a new replacement is available at a good price or if I can replace it with an alternator from another car? Second of all I have problems with the fuel delivery. I beleive that there is just a lot of clogging, and I intended on running some cleaner through the gas except. It decided not to start one day in March so I need to pull the injectors and clean them. Can anybody help me out by email some info from their manual or help me to locate a paper one of my own. Lastly I need to locate a rear window gasket, after my back window was broken out I don't know what happened to it. Any help would be appreciated. I just want to drive my car again.
